So let's see, classes are continuing as usual. I don't know how I'm feeling as far as my performance so far in college. It's kind of a mixed bag. I just got a 96 on my 2nd psychology test and a 92 on my first bio test, but I've also gotten a 62 on my first psychology test and a 77 on my first sociology test. I just don't know. It's not that college work is hard by any means, but the tests are certainly harder, on top of the fact I'm already not a good test taker. But overall, I think everything academically is going fine. I mean, I'm just striving for B's here. Haha.
Speaking of school, I've been giving a lot of thought to what I want to do after undergrad school. I kind of assumed when I went into nursing that I'd just go to grad school right afterwards and be an Nurse Practitioner. But I'm starting to think that, that's not really what I want to do anymore. I mean, it's not like I won't make plenty of money being an RN. And I just don't know how I'm going to feel about going to 2 or 3 more years of school after I graduate from undergrad. Besides a "text from last night" said that "grad school is just like college with more work and no alcohol" laaaame. Plus I'm thinking if I do go for some higher education after I get my BSN I'd want to be a Physicians Assistant and I'm not even sure that you can get a degree as a Physicians Assistant if you have a BSN. Hmmm.
In other news, Vince contacted the head of the music department here at VCU and looks like I'll be playing in a number of the VCU Symphony and Band performances. I'm pretty excited, I'm going home tomorrow to bring my harp back up here to store at the music school. It'll be an opportunity to meet some new people and also get involved at school. Not to mention I've really missed being able to play music. So I'm pretty excited! And VCU's music school is pretty legit, despite the fact that a lot of people that go here for music are really pretentious. Then again, most people that go to VCU for any type of art are pretty pretentious.
Ooh, I got my case for my computer! Now it looks like Bailey's, it's the two-tone pink cover. It looks pretty sweet. And finally broke down and downloaded my first free music! I just really wanted the new Avett Brothers CD and I didn't have any itunes money. It's what happens when you're a poor college kid, I suppose.
So the weather here was so beautiful! It was probably about 77 degrees outside and sunny but really, really breezy. Me and Kae went out into Monroe Park with towels and our homework and just sat in the park for 3 hours reading and talking and stuff. It was just so nice and peaceful! Then went on an expedition to Belle Isle, which we found out is about a 30 minute walk from campus. It's really pretty there, the sun was setting and glistening over the water. There's a lot of rocks and rapids. It's a great place to sun tan and have a picnic or something.
Things are going pretty well and I'm starting to settle into a nice pattern. I want to hear how you guys are all doing! I feel like no one's written in a really long time!
I love you guys and miss you!
